JUGGLlNG is the ability to keep several objects continuously moving from the hand(s) into the air by means of quick alternate tosses and catches. The cascade is the primary move in juggling and the place to begin.
Follow these instructions:
Step 1. Start with one ball tossing it (underhand) from hand to hand. The highest peak the ball should reach while in mid-air is about a foot above your shoulders and 6 inches from your nose. Continue to Step 2 after “a hundred” successful smooth tosses back and forth. The toss creates a nice gentle arc before coming down.
Step 2. Now take two balls and place one in the palm of your right hand — the other in the palm of your left. Toss one with an underhand toss and at the moment it reaches the peak, toss the second under the first forming an ‘x’ in mid-air. Alternating the starting hand, continue until you have mastered it perfectly and are “totally bored”!
Step 3. Add a third ball, but just hold it in one hand (and then the other) while continuing Step 2. Start with the hand that has two balls in it and toss the ball closest to your fingertips first. Catching on?!
Step 4. Starting with two balls in your right hand and one in your left, as in Step 3, toss front ball #1 from your right hand into the air. When the ball peaks, toss the ball #2 from your left hand. When this ball peaks, toss the other ball #3 from your right hand, (just after catching ball #1 in the left hand and prior to catching ball #2). Catch them all and you’ve just completed a “JUG”! Repeat by starting with the two balls in the left hand to balance out your brain! Now, don’t stop! You’ve learned how to juggle!
